My passion for expanding beyond what I had done yesterday never quits.

Ever since I can remember, I have had a passion for the visual arts and I was fortunate enough to have a family that greatly supported my creative tendencies. I can still remember my first movie camera — my grandfather’s old 8mm. That camera was with out a doubt my most favorite childhood toy. Leading all the way up till high school, I went on to make many short movies with it. Some good. Some bad. However it really didn't matter to me, because the creative process of making them was always my favorite part.

Later I went on to take all 4 years of art classes in high school and was fortunate enough to have amazing teachers that continued to encourage my ever-growing appetite for the creative process. From high school I went on to attend Northern Illinois University were I received a bachelor's degree in Visual Communications. I graduated in 1990 and began working at various design and marketing agencies in the Chicago area. The agency years brought about great insight and hands-on experience that became indispensable in my career.

After 13 years, it was time for me to break out on my own. I started McKenzie Creative in 2003 focusing largely on video and animation production. With the ever growing demand for motion graphics content on the web, it seemed as though my timing could not have been any better.

For the past 23 years I have committed myself to honing my craft as a professional visual storyteller and my passion for expanding beyond what I had done yesterday never quits.
